Last updated: September 5, 2026
Applicable to: https://convrs.org — KVKK · GDPR · CCPA compliant
This Cookie Policy explains the types, purposes, durations of the cookies and browser storage areas used on the Convrs website, and how you can manage these technologies, in accordance with the Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable legislation. You should read this policy together with the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that your browser saves on your device when you visit a website. During your site visits, cookies carry information between your browser and the site and enable the site to remember you. In addition, browser storage (localStorage) is a similar technology used to store data within the browser for the same kind of purpose.
Important note: The content of the files you convert is never stored in any cookie, in localStorage or on the server side. Cookies are used solely for site preferences, analytics and advertising.
2. Cookies and Browser Storage Areas We Use
a) Strictly Necessary / Functional Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are required for the site's core functions and security. They are not subject to your consent (KVKK Art. 5/2-ç; GDPR Art. 6/1-b).
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| convrs-cookie-consent | Remembering your cookie acceptance preference | localStorage | Until deleted (browser-dependent) |
| theme / color-scheme preference | Remembering your light/dark theme selection | localStorage | Until deleted (browser-dependent) |
b) Analytical Cookies (Google Analytics)
Google Analytics places analytical cookies used to understand how the site is used (number of visits, session duration, approximate geographic region, browser/device type). These cookies are activated only after you give your consent by accepting cookies and generate only anonymized and aggregate statistics. Your file content is never processed in this context.
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _gid, _gat, _ga_* | Visitor session and site usage statistics | First-party / Analytical | _ga: 2 years · _gid: 24 hours · _gat: 1 min |
c) Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)
Google AdSense may use first-party and third-party cookies (e.g. NID and consent-related cookies under US/EU cookie consent legislation) to serve ads, measure advertising performance and show you more relevant ads. These cookies are activated if you accept cookies. If you do not accept (or withdraw) consent, only non-personalized (Limited Ads) advertising is shown and these ads are not targeted based on your browsing history. You can turn off ad personalization at any time via Google Ad Settings.
3. Consent and Cookie Acceptance
Under the KVKK and GDPR, consent-based cookies such as analytical and advertising cookies require your informed explicit consent. Clicking the "Accept" button in the cookie notice you see when you first enter the site means that you give your explicit consent to these cookie types. If you click the close button or take no action, only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage areas are used; analytical and advertising cookies are not activated.
You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal (GDPR Art. 7/3; KVKK Art. 5/1).
4. How Can You Manage Cookies?
You can manage or completely block cookies and browser storage areas through the following methods:
- Browser settings: From your browser's settings menu you can block, delete or configure all cookies to request confirmation on every visit. (E.g. Chrome
Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies; FirefoxSettings → Privacy & Security; SafariPreferences → Privacy.) - Cookie acceptance preference: By deleting the
convrs-cookie-consentrecord in your browser storage, you can display the cookie notice again and change your preference. - Google Ad Settings: You can turn off ad personalization via adssettings.google.com.
- More information: For detailed information on managing cookies, please visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
Blocking or deleting cookies does not affect the site's core file conversion functions; it may only affect the remembering of certain preferences (theme, cookie preference, etc.) and the delivery of personalized advertising.
5. Responsibility for Third-Party Cookies
The use of third-party cookies placed by Google (Analytics and AdSense), their durations and the processing activities relating to the data collected through these cookies are subject to Google's own privacy and cookie policies. We have no control over the functioning of these third-party cookies; responsibility rests with the relevant third-party platform. For details:
6. Notice under the CCPA
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we do not "sell" or "share" your personal information (for cross-context behavioral advertising). The analytical and advertising cookies we use may involve the processing of technical data, which could be considered "personal information" under the CCPA, with third-party providers; if you do not consent to these cookies or turn off personalization via Google Ad Settings, such processing does not occur. You may contact us to exercise your right not to have your data sold or shared.
7. Contact and Changes
If you have questions about this Cookie Policy or would like more information, you can contact us: support@convrs.org. We may update this policy from time to time; significant changes are indicated by the "Last updated" date, and your continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
